Kolkata (earlier known as Calcutta) is principal commercial, cultural, and educational centre of East India, and well connected with the rest of India through Air and rail transport. The city has nurtured five Nobel laureates, Rabindranath Tagore, Mother Teresa, Ronald Ross, C.V. Raman, and Amartya Sen. Although the local Language has been Bengali, over the last 20 years, the city is populated with multilingual population.

The nearest Airport is Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, situated around 15 Km from the conference venue. The Two main Railway Stations Howrah and Sealdah are terminal stations of South Eastern and Eastern Railways, are 8 km and 15 km away respectively from the conference venue.
